MLM DOES NOT WORK - AT LEAST NOT THE WAY THE COMPANIES SAY IT DOES
It is a sad thing to say, but say it I must....MLM does not work!
After years of toiling, trials, tribulations, and broken dreams, I finally came to that painful revelation. And it wasn't just me.
Did you know that a full 97% of network marketers fail in their business? Most of these people never earn one dime from their businesses. Most become disillusioned and give up after six to nine months in 'business.'
These disappointing statistics had a huge personal meaning to me. You see, for many years, I was one of that 97% that was failing.
As I became more and more involved in network marketing over the years, my passion to know why a business that I was putting my heart, soul, and finances into simply wasn't going anywhere grew out of control.
I had to know why I was not able to earn one thin dime, even though I did exactly what the network marketing companies and my uplines told me to do.
This created an obsession in me to find out exactly why a chosen few seemed to be able to live their MLM dreams, while I (and many around me) was looking like a member of the band in the movie Titanic. Remember, they were still performing their act while the ship was going down.
We would gather at our weekly meetings. You know, the ones that we were supposed to bring our 'prospects' to.
But when someone actually brought a prospect, it was a true 'stop the press' moment.
The reality was that out of ten or twelve people on our 'team' who managed to show up regularly, we would collectively manage to bring only one or two prospects to our meetings per week - and even that wasn't a guarantee.
Now here we were. Intellegent people. Educators. Attorneys. Corporate and governement professionals. Business people. By all means we'd been successful in everthing we had undertaken to do - until now.
SO WHY WERE WE SUCH COLLECTIVE FAILURES AT OUR MLM BUSINESSES?
Many of the people on the team I refer to decided to continue doing the same thing the company told them to. They were still riding the
Just Do More
train that I finally had to get off of. They swallowed the MLM Lies that I eventually learned the hard way the companies were pushing for their own benefit and not mine.
But I wasn't a quitter. I was determined to succeed. And if I was going to do it, I was going to have to find out
The Truth
about MLM network marketing because what I was doing sure as 'heck' wasn't working.
The network marketing leaders above me continued to tell me to doing exactly what they said because, after all, this was how they made it.
But something was wrong. Something was very wrong. If these MLM stars got there doing the same thing they were now telling me to do, then why didn't it work for me?
After all, I wasn't even looking to own a large mansion and a yacht, like many of them did.
I just wanted to create a successful home-based business that would allow me to pay off my house note, retire from my job, and move fulltime (like, maybe, four hours a day) into a viable company of my own that allowed me and my wife to enhance our level of living so we could give more to our church and favorite charities, and help our family and friends when they needed it.
But it wasn't working.
The more I did what the MLM honchos told me to do, the smaller my bank account got, and the larger my frustrations grew.
And the more like a fool I begin to feel.
After all, I was chasing after people who had absolutely no interest whatsoever in what I was pushing.
I was straining personal relationships because I was constanting trying to convince friends and family to take a look at my 'opportunity.'
I was blowing my savings going to conferences and purchasing products sold by the company that were supposed to be the things I needed to 'invest in' to jump start my business.
None of it worked, and now I was mad!
I was mad because I felt like I had been taken for a ride.
I was mad because I knew there had to be something that the companies were not telling me that was the key to being a success in this business.
After all, this wasn't rocket science. And the people above me certainly weren't any more inherently intellengent than I was.
But it was obvious they knew something about network marketing and sales that I didn't.
The more the MLM companies told me to just do exactly what they said, and don't take any advice or try to learn anything from anyone outside the company because it would only ruin my business, the more I was determined to do just that.
I figured what difference would it make? I surely wasn't getting any closer to success doing things their way.
This is when I finally figured out that
MLM Does Not Work
. At least not the way the companies were telling me it would. And this was when the dawning of my success really began.
After all, I already knew what didn't work.
Now all I had to do was find out what did work.
This was the point at which I began to pour over every book I could about successful network marketing, and even marketing and sales in general.
And what I found out was a shock to my system.
What I found out was this:
Pretty much everything the companies had told me over the years was the exact opposite of what I learned I needed to do to be an
MLM Success
.
After I made the decision to break lose from blind loyality to the company spin, I begain to learn exactly what I had to do become successful and make some real money in network marketing.
And after realizing this, the rest, as they say, was relatively easy.
The first thing I learned was the importance of becoming my own 'brand.' I learned that
Branding You
was a most important business paradigm that most every successful businessperson employed, no matter what products or services they endorsed or sold.
Understanding the concept of how to brand myself allowed me to elevate myself above my network marketing company, which is where every business owner should be.
I learned that I didn't have to be tied to a single company and product, which is one of the things many MLM network marketing companies really don't want their associates to get a relevation of.
I realized that that I could begin treating the single MLM company as just another product or service MY company sold.
No one MLM company was any longer the be-all and end-all. My financial eggs no longer had to be in one network marketing company's basket.
I was going to be like Wal-Mart. I would be able to sell many products and offer many services. This would create many revenue streams for me.
No longer would my entire financial future be dependent upon the one company I was affiliated with.
If a particular company's product or service wasn't moving they way I thought it should, of if I wasn't satisfied with a company for any reason, I now had the option to discontinue 'selling' it in my 'store', and shift my focus to those products and services that were more popular with my customers and prospects.
This was the beginning of my getting a clearer understanding of proper
Sales and Marketing
and the power of marketing my products and services using
Internet Strategies
to market my company to people who actually wanted the goods, services, and opportunties I had to offer - you know, like every other company that sells a product or service does.
It's funny, and I never really thought about it before, but only in network marketing do they tell the associate that he has to pester every single person he comes in contact with in order to try and recruit a prospect or make a sale.
But this type of sales advice is faulty.
All the associate usually ends up doing is wasting an enormous amount of time and money chasing after people who don't want what he has to offer.
After all, when was the last time someone got you to spend your hard earned money, and just as important, your time, on something that you absolutely did not want?
After learning what it really took to be a succes, I wanted to shout.
I wanted to share what I learned with everyone I knew who was in this business and most likely operating with the same misinformation and heading toward unneccessary failure like I was.
This was how the MLM Network Marketing Success System was born.
I wanted everone in network marketing to have the chance to learn the things the company won't tell you about what it actually takes to make it in this business.
