SWIPE FILES - LEARN THIS LITTLE KNOWN SECRET TO GETTING YOUR PROSPECTS CLICKING

Do you realize the importance of Swipe Files?

A better question may be whether you've ever even heard of one.

Swipe Files are simply a compliation of various effective, eye catching advertising headlines.

As you search for various ways to build your Internet business, you'll probably run across Internet marketers who sell these 'files' as a part of their overall marketing product package.

They are a very important part of your Internet Marketing Strategy and something that you are highly advised to give your attention to.

The reason why you need an effective Swipe File is simple.

If you're intention is to develop a successful Internet sales and marketing business, you obviously need a website.

And whether by building an award winning website through Site Build It , through another 'do it yourself' web provider, or by hiring a full service professional web designer, you're going to need to become proficient and knowledgeable in webpage design.

The fact is that the 'professional' web designers are mostly terrible at the actual art of effective Internet marketing and the creation of effective sales copy.

That's why most websites, while dazzingly pretty, are wholely ineffective in accomplishing the one real thing they were created for, which is making YOU, the business owner, MONEY.

This is where the Swipe File comes into play.

The reason why some Internet businesses are effective is because their owners known how to produce 'eye catching' copy that compels the reader to click on their site.

And the thing that causes Internet customers searching for a solution to their problems to make that initial click on one website instead of another is a good webpage Headline.

The Headline is the only chance you'll get to make a first impression on your potential prospect or customer. For this reason, your Headline must be 'arresting' (as in put the customer under arrest and stop them from going anywhere else).

You webpage Headlines must arrest your prospect so that they are compelled to enter your site to see if you have the answer to their problems.

Think about newspapers headlines. The good ones have a promise of information that you just have to stop and read about. That's the same way your webpage Headlines have to be.

Without an effective headline, you'll never get clicks to your website.

Think of all of the effective headlines that cause you to click on different websites, or pick up different magazines, or buy the newspaper when you don't usually read it.

What are the attributes of effective headlines.

Well, for one, the hold the promise of answer to your problem.

'IT'S THE ONE SECRET YOU HAVE TO KNOW IF YOU EVER WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT...HINT: IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK.'

'LEARN THE SHOCKING TRUTH ABOUT HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AND WHY EVERTHING YOUR DOCTOR TOLD YOU MAY BE DOING YOU MORE HARM THAN GOOD.'

'MEN: HERE ARE THE SEVEN ROMATIC MOVES YOUR MATE WISHES YOU WOULD LEARN (BUT THAT SHE'LL NEVER TELL YOU).'

'TRAVEL INDUSTRY INSIDER TIPS THAT GET YOU FIRST CLASS ACCOMMODATIONS ON A COACH BUDGET.'

You get the idea.

The headline is like the first impression on a first date.

You only get one chance to make it.

But unlike the first date, where even if your first impression is a dud, you still have the rest of the evening to impress, a uninspriring Internet website Headline will cause your prospective customer to bypass your site in search of others that have more promise of solving their problems and answering their questions.

And it all comes back down to the swipe file. Get yourself a good one, and you'll be head-and-shoulders ahead of your competition, because I guarantee you, the average Internet marketer doesn't even know anything about them.

Use the Swipe file effectively, and you'll start raking in the bucks, while your competitors are still in the starting gate.

There are two things you need to do. The first whould be to purchase a good Swipe File to get you started. They may run you anwhere from $15 - $30 bucks. I wouldn't spend anything more on one than that.

The other, longer term thing you need to do is start to develop your own Swipe File. It's infinitely easy to do. As you do your day to day reading of magazines, newspapers and the like, Just start clipping or writing down any 'eye catching' advertising headlines you see.

After a short time, you'll be amazed at how much effective advertising headlines ideas you'll have compiled.

This is how they got the name, Swipe Files. Your actually swiping other people's ad copy.

Unethical and underhanded? Not if you approach it the right way.

Now here's the thing. Your goal is not to use the headlines you swipe 'word-for-word'. You only want to swipe the headline to use as a guide, and brainstorming tool to help you in writing your own 'eye catching' headlines.

After all, most of the time the headlines you see aren't going to be specifically taylored to your specific sales niche.

But that's okay. All you need to do is use the basic idea of the headline, then craft it to fit your particular message.

For instance, 'The 7 Lies of Network Marketing' could be 'The 7 Lies of the Pharmaceutical Industry', or 'The 7 Lies of Effective Weight Loss.'

You see. It's easy to use what you think is an effective headline for one industry, and amend it to fit your specific needs.

Most people who develop websites make to crucial mistakes that doom their web-based businesses.

First, they focus all their attention on the 'beauty' of their website, mistakenly thinking that people are going to be blown away because of their sites color scheme and the other bells and whistles.

But when you're looking to solve a problem, which is what people who serve the net with the intention of spending money are looking to do, you couldn't care less about a sites essoteric atributes.

The second mistake - which really isn't a mistake at all - is that the website businessperson pays to much attention to the actual copy - the content - of the webpage.

Now don't get me wrong. Content is extremely important. It's just that it becomes a moot point if you didn't have anything to lead the customer to that content.

That's what an effective headline does. It leads to customer to the copy or content.

So start looking at headlines as a businessperson instead of a consumer. Copy the good ones and adjust them to fit your particular needs.

Do this, and you'll be on the way to ensuring your Internet business success.

Until next time,

Wishing you great business success...
