YOU MUST KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT MLM NETWORK MARKETING

As you probably know from experience, you can find many more

and misconceptions out there, when all you want is the truth.
It's not that companies and the people who work for them are out to intentionally lie and decieve you in order to take your money and waste your time - though we know that does happen in network marketing sometimes, just as it does in any other industry.
It's more that the company has a different goal than the associate, and it's not in the company's best interest to tell the associate the truth. But before the associate ever becomes successful, he or she has to learn the truth about how the industry works.
Usually, the members (or associate, downline, affiliate, or whatever the company calls its salespeople) thinks they are in business for themselves and with the company. The truth is the
company sees its members as employees - as recruiters or salesmen for the company. Now there's nothing inherently wrong with this at all, but it's usually not how the member sees
his relationship with the company.
Look at how the relationship between the company and the member really works.
You, the member, are told you are in business for yourself. If you successfully recruit someone else (to work for the company), you get a commission. If you make a sale (for the company), you get a commission. Now you will make money, which is what you expect. But are you really growing a thriving business for yourself, or are you making peanuts while the company uses you (and many others) to recruite more and more paying members into the company?
For you, as the member, to be truly successful, you have to be focused on your business model, and not the company's. The problem with this is most members don't have a business
model apart from the company. The member's business model is usually limited to recruiting other people - for the company, and making sales - for the company.
The company is in business to make money for itself and its officials. It does this by continuously finding new members willing to pay the monthly associate fee (first), and then by selling its products (second). The company uses its current members to accomplish this.
Remember, the company is in business for itself. You have to be in business to make money for yourself.
Until you begin to understand the concept of
Personal Branding,
which is branding your and not the company, the chances of your ever being truly successful are very limited.
Please don't take this as a nock against any MLM company. I can honestly say that there are some absolutely great companies, products, and people working in the MLM network marketing
industry. I know because I've met many of them, and I'm one of them myself. It's just that the company's objective and the member's objective are not always going to be the same.
THE COMPANY'S BIG PICTURE
Lets look at things from the company's standpoint for a minute.
Someone once asked me why network marketing companies didn't just sell their products like everyone else. The truth is because MLM companies know that network marketing creates an
additional easy revenue stream traditional companies don't have.
Through network marketing, an MLM company's number one product becomes selling the dream.
That's right. MLM companies sell dreams as their primary product. The dream of being a success. The dream of being financially independent. The dream of never having to work for
someone else again. And all for the low monthly fee of $50.00.
You'll never get a network marketing company to admit it in public, but it is the truth.
You see, it's the monthly associate or member fee that is the MLM company's lifeblood. And their primarly goal is to get this fee month after month from all of their members. Whether
the member is successful or not in his own business is of no real concern to the company, just as long as the member continues pay the monthly fee.
Think about it for a moment. Say a company has 100,000 active members at any given time, and each member faithfully pays their $50 fee each month. That's five million dollars of revenue month in and month out (not counting all of the other affiliate products that are sold by the company), without the company ever selling the actual product to a retail consumer. This is why most network marketing companies' main focus is on recruiting more members. They know that once the member willing pays his monthly fee, he's much more likely to spend additional money every month on motivational tapes, brochures, and other items the company sells its members.
It's easier to get someone to pay $50 a month for the chance to pursue their dream, than it is to get the public to purchase a product they've never heard of. That's the hard part the
business that is left to the dream-chasing associate.
Even if the company's uses network marketing to recruit its sales force, why doesn't it advertise? Because advertising is a huge expense for a company. Next to salaries, advertising is probably the biggest expense for most businesses.
But since the network marketing company doesn't have any 'hourly' employees (or very few - usually administrative staff), and does not do any traditional advertising, it eliminates the usual two biggest operational expenses for a company.
This is why the network marketing company has the money to pay those huge bonuses to its salespeople who bring in the most money. It's overhead is a fraction of what a traditional
company's is.
The company is simply playing a numbers game, and its a game that they win by recruiting as many paying associates into the company as quickly as possible.
SELLING THE DREAM
MLM companies know most people join a network marketing opportunity because they like the thought of working for themself, and like the idea of getting in on something that has that 'get rich quick and easy' feel about it. After all, this is the hype that most companies push at their info meetings and opportunity sessions.
Companies basically tell their prospects what they want to hear. Things like the prospect's success is guaranteed because the company's 'proven system' is so easy that anyone can make
serious money in their spare time' with little or no effort. Some nonsense like this.
Remember, accomplishing anything of lasting value is not easy. It's not rocket science either, but if running a thriving company were that easy, everyone would be doing it.
The companies are not stupid though. They know that about 97% of everyone who ever joins their company is going to fail and quit eventually.
They know that the average person will stick with the company for about six months before becoming discouraged and giving up. This is why recruiting is so important to them. They have to keep fresh people willing to pay the monthly fee coming in the door or they're out of business.

MLM network marketing companies know that if they were to teach their prospects the truth about what it takes to become a success, it would cost them a lot more money, and they would waste time on associates who likely aren't going to become successful anyway because they never had the mindset and determination that a successful business person must have in order to succeed in the first place.
